About the Team
Kelton Burgess
Kelton Burgess is a highly experienced estate and probate attorney. He designs estate plans to help his clients preserve their wealth and transfer their estate to their heirs and loved ones with the least potential tax consequences.
Kelton received his law degree from Thomas Kline School of Law (formerly Duquesne University School of Law). Kelton earned his bachelor degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Kelton is actively licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of California. He also maintains a Series 65 securities license and insurance producer license.
Kelton can be heard weekly on his radio show Estates and Trusts Insights on WORD 101.5 FM at 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Kelton regularly hosts estate planning educational seminars throughout the Greater Pittsburgh Area, where he has helped thousands of members of our community. He is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association Estates and Trusts Council, a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Probate and Trust Law Section, and is also a participant in the Wills and Trusts clinic at Duquesne University.
Kelton his wife, Sylvia, their daughter and Charlie the labrador reside in the Mars, PA. They enjoy skiing, cycling and most outdoor activities, as well as frequenting local shops and restaurants.
Susan Acon
Susan Acon has a multi-function role at the Burgess Firm. First, she is our certified Paralegal. Her education and background in paralegal work provides her with a solid foundation to support the office in comprehensive estate planning. Second, Susan is our Client Relations Manager. With her excellent communications skills, collaborative approach, her caring demeanor and personable nature, Susan offers invaluable support to our clients.
Susan is also our firm’s Office Manager. With her Master of Business Administration, she focuses on streamlining office processes and business metrics, including the accuracy and clarity of every interaction with our clients and management of staff members. Susan also assists in the planning and implementation of improvements and participates in the facilitation of our educational seminars.
Outside of work, Susan likes to spend quality time with her husband, family, and friends. She also enjoys kayaking, going on vacations, cheering on the Pittsburgh sports teams and exploring the greater Pittsburgh area.

Shaila Gaska
Shaila is The Burgess Firm’s Law Clerk, concentrating most of her efforts on working with the firm’s estate planning and probate clients. Currently, Shaila is pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, in which she is gaining knowledge of legal principles and procedures, conducting legal research, and learning about various components of the legal system. She supports the firm by scheduling client appointments, managing case files, and recording documents at the courthouse. With Shaila’s welcoming and pleasant personality, she is dedicated to helping our clients, and with her inquisitive nature Shaila continually gains valuable experience in the legal field.
In her spare time, Shaila enjoys baking sour dough bread, attending concerts, and spending time with her family and friends.
